Ahh. The Mangalarga Marchador. Ever controversial, ever noodle legged, ever small in stature. The Mangalarga Marchador is kind of like an olive. Some people love him, others hate him. Some tolerate him in other people's collections. I tolerate him, but there are too many "quirks" about him for me to collect him or even own one. I understand he fits the breed, but I don't even like the breed.
Anyway, enough opinion, I'm writing a factual post.
The Mangalarga Marchador was first released as Imperador das Aguas JM, the BreyerFest Celebration Horse in 2016.

The mold appeared as a set of three metallic charms in the Silent Auction of the same year. There is no information on how much they sold for (if you know please contact me!).

The mold was then given a 3 year break, appearing only once during that time, as a 2017 BF LA piece. He sold for $1,100, giving Breyer the first hint that this was not to be a crazy popular mold.

The next release was a regular run in 2019-2020. Named "Enzo", he was priced at the standard $49 (give or take a few bucks).
2019-2020 RR Enzo |
Enzo was glossed for the 2019 Collector Club Appreciation Event. Only 157 pieces were produced, yet he still sells quite low. I saw one this morning listed for $150 obo. No takers at the time of this writing.

His most current release occurred in 2021 as "Lamington", a 40pc run for the Collector Club virtual event True Blue. Sadly, this event took place after Janice Cox passed away, so Lamington never made it to the IDYB website. His photo is the only one in this post that does not belong to IDYB. It is from the new IDYB, identifyyourbreyer.weebly.com. I do not know why "Lami" is orange. I made an oopsie apparently.
