FOR SALE: Johann

I was having a rough day yesterday, so I went ahead and indulged in a Johann. I won't be keeping him, but selling is fun for me, and I figure it keeps one more model out of the hands of those grubbers on eBay charging $125-200 for them.

Mine will be for sale upon arrival. I have a MH$P ad for him here: MH$P | Johann -2022 Collector Club Classics Gambler Model (modelhorsesalespages.com)

Thank you!

More Wade Figurines

I guess this is (nearly) wordless Monday? Lol. Anyways, I did get a new SD card (yay!) so I just have to get photos now. :) In the meantime, here are the promised photos of the Wade figurines. I didn't edit or watermark them (please be a good human and don't steal them) because I was busy. So this is kind of just a photo spam post. If you're not interested in tiny glass animals, don't bother reading any further. There are no more words beyond this, except the comments on the photos. If you do like tiny glass animals, enjoy!

I think the giraffe is one of the most intricate in color. He's truly stunning irl.

Poor owl got a chip somewhere along the way.

The camel is very well shaded.

The koala is one of my favorites, being as I am half Australian.

The way that the tiger sits reminds me of my cat. 😂 He looks very stately.

This fellow looks just as a mischievous lemur should. You can almost see the devilment in his eyes.

The polar bear has better shading in-person, but the photo makes her appear washed out.

The Rhino is another favorite of mine.

The raccoon would have also been cute in grey imo.

My local antique shop has four of these rn. I didn't see any other species. I wonder if someone had a collection of the variations? He's a pretty cute little fellow.

This cat was my first one. She came from the home of a loved one who had passed away.

Since you stuck with me to the end, here's an HSO for you. ;)

Sick

I've been sick for the last few days, so I apologize for the lack of posts.

It's not COVID (I tested). I was feeling better yesterday, but today is just an okay day. The coughing stage always hits me hard. I will try to get another post out for tomorrow, but it may not be until Tuesday (I've got some appointments and other stuff happening tomorrow).

Blanche eating breakfast. No, she doesn't relate to this post, but yes, she is very cute.

Thanks for sticking with me! There's a (kind-of) new herd member I am excited to introduce to you. 😉

Assateague Pony Decor

A friend of mine attended a local auction recently, and bought this decor plaque-like thing for me. I think it's really nice. :) The printing is quality, and it feels sturdy. I included a photo of the branding for those interested. I don't know where this came from originally, but you might be able to find it online. I didn't look, so I don't know.

In other news, my SD card died yesterday. 😥 I've got to figure out what to do about that. Expect photo-low posts for awhile anyway.

Fun Friday!

Relaxed post this evening. :) All the photos are unedited. Sorry about that, but today was rough and this is all I had in me.

Here are some DIYs I've been working on. Hopefully I will be able to spotlight a few of them in the future!

New Barrel

New Muck Bucket

Taco Shell Time! Rolo looks jealous of Reba.

Weston got a new pillow! Chester looks a little skeptical of it.

Ribbons! I actually made these last year, but I only added the hooks about a month ago, and only hung them up a couple weeks ago.

Every barn needs rules. Truman seems to be contemplating which ones pertain to him. 😜

Odd Ball Harper

I was outside updating some halter showing photos yesterday when I noticed something odd about my grey Harper (Heroes of the West set, 2017-2019).

She's got funky two-tone hooves. I wonder how it happened? Perhaps some of the masking used on the sock was left on the hoof? No, her socks aren't crisply masked. I did double check and it is not a rub, it is from the factory. I'm thankful it's on the hooves and nowhere obvious. If anyone has any guesses as to why she's like this, please comment! :) I don't believe the right hind has it at all, but I'm not 100% on that. I know the other three do.

Other than that flaw, she's a beautiful model. She is more grey than Grulla. I show her as a grey.

Until next time! :) Thanks for reading.

Fall Releases

We have two new Fall releases!! Well, three if you count the puzzle. But I'm not counting the puzzle. ;)

The first one is Jewels!

18 Jewels per dealer will make getting one interesting for those on the hunt

He'll be quite popular. Many people collect the Fighting Stallion. As for me, I am not a particular fan of the mold, and I actually quite dislike the color. A softer fade or less in your face shades would have made it more tactful to me, but I understand they were going with jewel tones for the name.

The other new release is Kendall! She is beautiful, but also not one that will be joining the herd. If she was matte I'd definitely get her, but I'll pass on the gloss. However, I am glad to see they are making glossies more readily available. Most people like the finish, and it can be quite expensive. Kendall's gloss looks nice and heavy. Hopefully the release won't run into too many problems with fingerprints, bubbles, rough patches, and loose hairs.

Only 900 of these lovely ladies will be available in 2022, the other 2100 will arrive in 2023.

It may not be the 22nd yet, but when the fall releases come out, it's officially autumn for me. Plus the farming community is peddling their pumpkins in town as of last weekend, and it's 49 degrees out. Break out the pumpkin spice!

Thank you so much for making this happen! And one day within the goal too. 😀

Even my Guinea Pig, Blanche, got into the spirit of it all! Lol.

New Ponies! Trade Deal SMs.

I just received some new SMs from a trade deal I was in. I traded a CM SM for three OF SMs. The person I was trading with was extremely kind and actually sent me a freebie model as well. Thank you so much M.W.!

SDS Irish Temper - Cayuse - Stallion - Chestnut

SDS Rambling Gambler - Appaloosa - Gelding - Dun Blanket

SDS Drinking Violets - ASB - Mare - Dappled Chestnut

Here is the custom I sent her (he is paint with a winter coat, so his mapping is slightly less visible):

Update on the "30 Days of Questions" Prompt List

SDS Reba McIntosh

Those of you who have read most of my posts know that I was following a prompt list a few weeks ago. I have decided not to follow the list all the way through (I've kind of fallen into a pattern on my own). It became a burden to follow all the prompts. So I have gone over all the prompts that Chestnut Ridge has and have written quite a few down that I feel will work well. I will be using them at various intervals. :)

I'd love to see some new viewers/followers, so please share my blog with your friends! I would like to make it to 500 views this week. Tomorrow marks the one month anniversary of this blog's publishing (Aug. 8 - September 8). I am at 480 views right now! Please share the link: Spotted Dreams Studio ! Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot. :3

Ashton

View out of my studio window to promote nice thoughts of happy little trees before you start reading this sad blog post about poor little flawed models

Sorry for the short absence, my local fair is going on this week and I am very involved in it. It's been dominating all my time (even eating/sleeping). I might do a post on it at a later date. Right now, I'm pretty "faired" out. 😂

Last week, I went against my own advice and purchased Ashton off the TSC website. I took a safety precaution, and ordered two. My plan was to choose the best one and return the other. I picked them up on Friday. Unfortunately, both of them have MAJOR flaws. I will be returning both.

The flaws look like someone splattered watercolor pink paint all over them. I slit one of the boxes and reached in with a wet cotton swab to see if the splats would lift, but they did not. Outside of the flaws, they are gorgeous. I love him, and I'm looking forward to finding a good one. Zeke and Jolene are in at my local store, so hopefully Ashton will be as well when I go to return these two.

Photos of the flaws are below, I circled them. My camera downplays the splats, you'll probably have to blow the image up to see them. They are crystal clear irl. These photos are from one model, the other one is just as bad.

Cringe. There were even more that didn't show up at all so I couldn't circle them.

On the bright side, notice his soft shading, neck dapples, and leg barring! And his snip is adorable.
