A Truckload of Sneak Peeks!

So many Sneak Peeks this last week!

The BF Blog has been buzzing with the silhouettes of the event SMs (previously called the Single Day Stablemates).

They are the Gypsy Vanner, Kathleen Moody's ASB, Irish Draught, and Kit.

Of course today is the last day to join the Stablemate and Premier club, so there is no end of peeks coming from Breyer on those clubs.

The Stablemate club has released all the releases except for the color on the new sculpt. We did get the clay blank and the sculptor/color designer (Mindy Berg!!)

Many thanks to Equiden for the use of this screenshot!

The Premier Club gave us something to celebrate about when they dosed out this spoonful of sugar yesterday afternoon.

YES! YES! YES! We are going to get a draft mare and foal!!!! SO EXCITED! Presumably this is the Kylee Parks sculpt. . . which means the mare will probably look a little like Truly Jolie!

The PC also showed this (I believe this was in an email last week). Looks like a Puleo piece to me!

Yesterday, Collector Club members got there December newsletter, which came with this image. The caption said "There's a slew of new releases on the way for 2023, and here's one of them! 👀 You'll meet this model in the new year."

Not much to go on there. Looks like a neck to head curve to me, but I have absolutely no idea on the mold.

I'll try to keep more on top of things! There were so many this week! Hopefully we get lots of reveals in the month of January.

A Sad Happening

You ever just feel like throwing a hissy fit?

Sadness. Yesterday, I logged on to my Laptop to discover all of my horses' show photos and all my general model horse photography was cleared. They are not in any of the trash/recycling folders, and I did not do anything to them. I hadn't opened the folder in over a week (the images I'd been using for the blog are in another folder). I did everything I could, but I kept coming up empty handed. All that's left are some undiscoverable and unusable shortcuts on my desktop.

So today I start again. I start making charts, to try and get new show photos for 300+ show models. I lost some photos of horses that I don't even own anymore, so they are gone forever. I lost some of my documentation and reference images, it's all gone. I've tried everything. So for right now, all I have are random, low-quality odds 'n' ends which were in other folders (there is not a ton).

I'm thinking that maybe while I go through the next six months to a year of trying to re-do all my work, I may feature some horses on here. Just some photos and information on them. Like I do with new arrival posts, but these won't be new arrivals. Does that sound like something you would be interested in seeing on here every once in awhile? Let me know in the comments. :)

SDS Ground Level (Snowbird)

Here is the new addition post I've been talking about! The sun was finally out today so I was able to take the photos. :)

Meet SDS Ground Level, barn name of Weston! He is Breyer model W700125 - Snowbird, 2022 Holiday Horse.

SDS Ground Level, AKA Weston, Grey Morgan Stallion.

This fella is virtually flawless, with just a tiny smudge on his barrel toward his right "armpit". It is only a textural flaw, and you cannot see it in photos. You can't even see it in real life, only sense it with your fingertip. His shading is lovely and gentle, and his details are fabulous. His eyes are my favorite part, they just look right into your soul! They really captured the "spirit of the horse" in this model.

Although painted chestnuts are more of the standard than the exception nowadays, I still remember the times when it was a big deal to have that detail. It pleases me to see it so nicely executed on Snowbird.

His barn name was chosen from my favorite book, "Out of the Silent Planet" by C. S. Lewis, from the Space Trilogy (it's 75% off right now through that link; I suggest you get it because it truly is an amazing read if you like sci-fi space fiction-y sort of stuff). I have a few horses whose names are inspired by it, (one of my favorites being a simple little appy RR SM). In the book, Weston is the tyrannical, fame/fortune-driven crazed scientist who. . . I'll stop there in case you want to read the series. 😉

I also have another new addition (or two) to show off, but I will do that another day. :) Thank you for reading! And thank you for helping me hit 1500 views a couple days ago.

2023 NEW RELEASES!!

Sorry, I didn't mean to do a disappearing act! I was crazy busy this week, and was mostly offline (only logging on for essentials like email and messages, and a couple Christmas emergencies 😉). There will be at least two new arrival posts, I'm just waiting on getting perfect photos of them. 🙃

Anywhoo, Breyer's 2023 RR line is released! I was able to view the catalog during the brief time it was available online (now anywhere you find the link it asks for a log in pass code). I tried to hit all the new stuff in this post. Photos are screenshots of the catalog, so my apologies for the low quality!

Traditional:

I love these two! I will be tracking them down eventually.

Handsome dude! I love those lightning socks.

While not my favorite, this is a very nice commemorative release for Secretariat. I like the little resin.

Such a cutie! I think the mold may need a rest, it's been so many barrel horses in the last 3 years.

Here, I must again lament the noodle legged-ness of this mare. If she just had nicer forelegs, I would be all over her! But those legs are hard to get by. Really pretty color though!

I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it! I really, really need this mare. She will be a welcome addition to the Spotted Dreams herd. I've wanted this color in a RR since Astrid came out in the PC!

Classic:

TOLD YA! They were real! I'm am so gonna need that Malik. The ASB is tempting (he looks just like the 70th Anniv. Hamilton) but I won't be getting him. The TB looks like Snowman, but the drafter is lovely!

Nice new unicorn.

New mare and foal, and the "TSC" mustangs will be sold after Christmas as well.

This one is cute, even for a deco. I certainly won't be getting it, but it is very adorable. Nice mold choice.

New buttermilk boy! Cute, but once again, not one I need. Poor pony, his rider is ginormous on him!

Stablemate:
That mare in the lower right looks like a re-release of this one (2018 Mystery Foal Surprise Family 12).

This makes me happy! I want at least two of that Clydesdale, one to keep OF and one to paint. I like that SCO, ant that MFT. I'm undecided on the Darley.

Joy, joy, joy! A new and delightful hunk of baby Fireheart! I want him. Many of him. Lots of him. So many customizing ideas!

Mini Whinnies:
I think there was a new BB series of MW too, but I didn't screenshot it in time. Darn those box barns! Gone are the days of fondling bags.

Other Stuff:
I just thought this page was interesting. This is "swag" for your brick and mortar store.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Gingerbread Baby Photoshoot!

I said I would try to take some model photos with my 1:9 scale gingerbread baby set, and here are the results!

This is a (rather sloppy) pic of the full scale set for comparison.

And with a different model:

The babies are a bit worn and scratched in some places, but they are still one of my favorite prop sets. :)

Blustery Day

Brrrr! It's cold here in Pennsylvania! This morning's temp was 26 degrees (Fahrenheit). Wind chills are in the low teens. This weekend's real-feel is slated for negative twenty-nine, with wind chills in the negative thirties to forties. I ventured outside early this morning to take some photos, but it was too cold to stay out for too long. The light wasn't great either. I did manage to get some of Adrian though, in all his winter regalia. I got a nice one of Jasper in his Rambo too, but I accidentally hit "delete" instead of "edit" so I lost that one (yes I did try to recover it, I was unsuccessful).

I ended up getting the knees of my jeans soaked since I was kneeling in the snow (I had Adrian up on a board so he wouldn't sink down in) lol.

Today is the kind of day to settle down with a nice, hot cup of coffee and a chocolate. If you have time for such rest breaks, that is! This season is so busy. I'm mixing my coffee break with my blog writing at the moment.

I received a tasty bag of Lindor chocolates as a Sunday School Teacher gift this year (tip: if you are looking for a SS teacher gift, go with chocolates! You can never lose. And, after dealing with small children early Sunday morning, we can usually use a little chocolate boost!).

I have a puzzle laying out in my living room, but it is only started (border is done, only little chunks otherwise).

The last puzzle had a really creepy little pony on it. I typically love all HSOs, but this one had something funny going on with it.

What do you think of him?

The final decorations are up, and the finishing touches have been applied.

I needle-felted this little bear over the autumn months.

Final Christmas cards are trickling in.

This one is a Billy Jacobs' print.

Snow is on the ground, with more predicted for right up through Christmas Eve night.

The cats are snuggled down on the kitchen chairs to the left and right of me.

Dexter

Primrose
I've got more projects to wrap up, so I suppose I best be going. The chocolate is gone, and my coffee is lukewarm. Off I go! Thank you for reading! Hope you have a very blessed Christmas. :) 🎄

Pssst. . .  be on the lookout for a new model post coming soon!
