Don't be Blue, be Appy!

Woo hoo! I may be a little late, but I'm still thrilled over some long awaited new Breyer news! We have two models, one of which is a re-issue of Carlington Emma (identical to the old one, but with the addition of a new purple sash). She's a stunner! I have the palomino one (web special Honeybunch from 2021 I believe) but I may have to add Emma to my shelves eventually. Her mold is so well suited to the Fell breed, and a black one is definitely a show string staple.

The other model is our new patriotic decorator! Washington is the name of this handsome fellow:

I love that blanket! Boy do I hope they use that template (or a similar one) on a realistic model in the future. I will not be purchasing this boy, because he is a glossy deco on a mold that really takes up a surprising amount of shelf space. 😂 I'm not sure if his name refers to our first president, or the location of our government.

Unrelated to this post, I'm considering doing some prop tutorials on the blog. Would there be any interest in that? They would be fairly simple, mostly just using things around the house and polymer clay. Please let me know in the comments if this is something you would enjoy, and any suggestions for props!

Houston, We Have Touchdown

Mariposa and Flor arrived yesterday! I was not expecting to see them until Monday or Tuesday, so I was truly thrilled. I'll be keeping them in their box until my other set comes, but I made sure to take lots of pics. Huge thanks again to Charlotte's Saddlery, especially Cherie and Missy!

I did not edit these photos at all, so they are true to color. Only a couple had flash, and it didn't really seem to affect the hue at all (which is strange, but nice!).

Love what they did with the shape! I noticed it first on my BF22 Nikko box.

Is this stamp thing on the bottom of the box new, or have I just not been paying attention lol?

I was also really happy to see painted chestnuts - Breyer seems to be remembering them on most pieces nowadays. :)

I absolutely adore the sweet little facial marking on the baby, so precious!

My pair is pretty good in the quality department, with a few paint goobers (as expected) on the mare. I'm very pleased with them, especially when compared to last year's Ashton.  I predict a hard choice between this pair and the one from Canada!

Captured Butterflies

Wow, sorry guys! I did not realize it had been 5 days. I guess nothing much has been happening- until today. . .

I managed to score a Mariposa and Flor! I have a set on pre-order (no money has been exchanged yet) from Hobby and Toy Central in Canada, but I received an email from a different shop today. This one was in Texas (Charlotte's Saddlery). I had emailed them back in January(?) asking for them to contact me when their shipment arrived, and they were awesome enough to do so! I managed to snag their last set. I will still buy the set from Canada (because I gave my word) and then choose which I like best and sell the other. :) Big thanks to both stores! Charlotte's Saddlery will be shipping mine tomorrow morning, so it will probably be less than a week before I have them to photograph and review.

In other news,  Breyer announced this pretty pair as a fundraiser for the Beebe Ranch, you can bid here or donate directly here. As of this writing, they are up to $7,100. Here's hoping they go over 10K!

That's all I got for today; keep your eyes open in the coming weeks for a new blog collab coming! 👀 It ought to be lots of fun. :)

Mini Chips!

*Please pardon the terrible photos and lighting in this post, my camera's flash is not so hot and there was no natural light to speak of when I took these pics lol*

Right before I got sick last week, I purchased this cute printable from Etsy. I love printies, but I don't usually buy them. I got them printed here a few days ago and made them up right away. I loved my experience with the shop (I highly recommend them!!) and the printable itself is well made and really easy to work with.

I made mine one seam at a time using a binder clip to hold them together while the glue dried, and then stuffed each one with teensy tiny balls of tissue paper. To top it off, I gave each bag a coating of glossy nail lacquer. I made all of them but the Pringles and the Tostitos dip (I plan on making them too, I just haven't done it yet).

Which is your favorite? Mine is the Cheddar Sour Cream Ruffles®️ - the same as my real chips favorite!

These are advertised as 1:12 scale, and they are true to that, but they look fine with Traditionals too.

I'm thinking I may turn a few of them into earring sets (you can never have too many novelty earrings!).

Link to Guest Blog Post

Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers!

Hope you all had a blessed Easter. He is risen!

I spent the day sleeping on the couch and watching bits and pieces of the Princess Bride over and over again because I kept dozing off at the good parts lol.  I'm feeling mostly better now but I'm swamped with things that still need done from the weekend. It will probably be a few more days before I put out a real post. :) In the meantime, here's a link to the guest post I wrote for Silver Web Studios: link .

Thanks for being patient and understanding!

Sick and Tired

Sorry for the long absence! Just wanted to post quickly on here that I am sick and probably won't be posting for a few more days. However, I will have a guest post being published soon on a different blog, and I will link over to that when it goes live. Now, to go find another ice pop for my throat. . .

Naughty Nokota

Happy Palm Sunday everyone! Hosanna to the King of Kings. 🌿

Yesterday was April Fool's Day, and, in keeping with tradition, Breyer tried to pull a sneaky on us. They announced that they had made the roached mane permanent on Nokota. Seemed a little far fetched but maybe they were just trying to avoid another Discoheart-heartbreak like last year.

We Collector Club members had seen this sneak-peek on Thursday:

So most of us were expecting a reveal in the coming days. Many (including myself) were guessing a Nokota, so the Breyer Blog post this morning didn't shock me.

What did surprise me was that it was a Gambler's Choice! Say what?!? We always used to have a GC on a Classics/Freedom Series mold. They must be doing away with that this year (no problem with me; I don't collect 1:12).

I like this release a lot. I feel like the bay is way too much like Bolero, but I'm sure he will be well received nonetheless. My favorites are the grulla appy and the tobiano. I might buy one of these, we'll see. I'm trying to keep myself on a pony ban (not counting my Mariposa and Flor) until BF time, but these dudes just may make me break.

Tell me which colorway is your favorite in the comments! Also, what would you have named this release? Breyer calls him Shelby, but I don't think it suits him.
