Yesterday morning, I became aware of a re-development plan that is trying to buy the property in the Chincoteague area that includes Beebe ranch. For those unfamiliar (if there are any unfamiliar), Beebe ranch is the home and historical site of the Misty of Chincoteague books. They need the bulk of $625,000 in order to rescue this tremendous piece of equine history. You can visit this link to donate.
As a hobby, I think we owe Misty a lot. I know that a tremendous amount (if not the majority) of our faithful hobbyists started as horse crazy young girls reading Marguerite Henry's wonderful books. Breyer has had a Misty in every year since 1972.
As of right now (5:03pm EST, 3/2/23), Beebe Ranch's Go-Fund-Me has $38,331. Let's make it $50,000 by the end of this week!
