Random Updates

 So I have a couple somewhat random little updates for you guys. Instead of trying to disperse them over the next posts (while other random little updates stack up in the background) I'm just going to give you a full post made of random little updates. Sorry! I'll try to stay on top of things better.

First Update:  DeJAH Vu Series

After I posted the first (and so far only) post in this series, I got an email from Breyer's Media Director. She wrote something along the lines of "Oh, I'm sorry, when I gave you permission to post the JAH, I didn't know you were going to literally copy it word for word. Please limit the direct transcripts to 2-3 posts." So, I am only allowed to do 2 more. I'm disappointed, but thankfully I am still allowed to quote (heavily) form them on articles researched and mainly written by myself. 

Second Update:  Resins

The resins were delivered to AJ yesterday, and she is very happy with them. :) I have already started work on the next custom (more on him later).

Third Update: Volunteer Model

Wowzers. Breyer revealed the BF 2023 volunteer at BreyerWest last week, and isn't she a doozy?? There will be 3 colorways in July, but only 2 have been passed out so far. Do you have a guess for the third color? I think a dilute is possible. . . 👀 

That's all I have for today. I need to re-stock my blog pictures folder, so I can publish some more unfinished posts. I'll have the camera out this week, so if you have an idea (or ideas) for a post, let me know in the comments below!

 Before I start tonight's post, I would like to give a BIG thank you to everyone who advertised for the photo show! Especially HorsieMama, who was kind enough to give it a whole blog post on her blog! I've got lots of entries, and I'm hoping to see some more tomorrow before it closes (deadline is Midnight EST tomorrow, Feb. 27!)

DONE! The resins are completed! I finished the last brush of gloss around noon today. They will be mailed off to their owner, AJ, later this week after I'm sure the sealant is thoroughly cured.

Resins: There's a Light at the End of the Tunnel!

 Switchback and Turnpike are nearly completed! This post has some photos of both of them. I took these on Saturday morning (I think it was right before I climbed into my closet lol).

Switchback, AKA "Banner" is the leopard. In the pics he still needs hoof color, eye touch-ups, and general touch-ups. As of Monday night, he has his hooves painted, and I am working on the final touch-ups today. Sorry that the pics are a little outdated!

Turnpike, AKA "Knight" is the blanket appaloosa. In the pictures he only needed touch-ups in this pic, and they are done as of Tuesday morning. Once again, sorry I don't have a more current update pic! He really doesn't look that different, other than his eyes are a bit less spooked looking.

Yay! Just sealant and glossing the details to go. I'm so excited to send these off to AJ! I think she will be really pleased with them.

Clean-Up

I'm back! Thank you all for your well wishes and birthday wishes in the last post. I am feeling 100%, and my family member thanks you. :)

Okay, where do we start? So much has happened since I last put a full post on.

I guess I should cover the cow from the last post, she was one of the new additions I was talking about. :) I found her at my local thrift store for 50 cents. I had to get her! She's about 4in tall.

I also managed to get a pre-order in for a Mariposa and Flor set. Mine are coming from the Canadian dealer, Hobby and Toy Central. A very kind MH$P shopper (thanks, B.S.!) directed me to them. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They may have more slots, so if you're looking for a set, tell them I sent you!

I'm so excited to get my hands on this pair.

I've been working on the commission resins, and they are nearing completion. The blanket appaloosa is 90% there, and the leopard is 80%. I may have some photos posted this weekend. :)

Finally, Bravour 54 got himself a little ribbon. Is this just Breyer's way of pacifying the mob? "Look! Look! We gave him an accessory! Something that is FREE. Don't be mad, isn't he cute in his little necklace ribbon???" Lol. Anyway, he's cute, and looks spiffy in his "tie".

Don't Look. . . I'm Neigh-kid

 This week has been spent mostly plugging away at the 2 resins here for commission. Yesterday, I finished their sketching. Here are their pictures. Now, like I told their owner, it's important to remember that I don't sketch every tiny spot going down the legs, and in the nooks and crannies. A lot of that is free hand while painting.

As kind of a tag along to this blog post, the last BF SR was revealed. 

    Meet Scurry!

She is only available to in-person attendees. I really like her, and would probably buy her if I could. But I don't love her enough to hire a pick-up person. I love the color. I have Honeybunch on the mold, and she is so adorable.

Equiden kindly posted Crescent Cove's SR Grading chart on her blog, and gave permission for usage, so I posted my "preference" list below.
