Hobby Room and Shelving Update!

April has been a long month, and we’re only a little more than halfway through. 😅 I’ve had lots of customs on the desk, but the most exciting (and time consuming) project has been moving my collection back into the hobby room after getting my new carpet.

These shelves are twelve feet long and twelve inches wide.

They hold about 330 members of my display herd. (There are a few dozen other ponies sprinkled around the room, and a herd of about 50 Schleich models that are in storage.)

I was so excited to get all of my collection back on their proper shelving! The stablemate herd grew considerably since the “evacuation”, and I did have to break out my extra acrylic riser for them.

My Cantering Warmblood conga count is up to eighteen! I also have a few bodies of her that I will (eventually) customize.

My next post will feature a few new herd members I have gotten in the last couple weeks! Only one of them is pictured in this post. . . (Hint: he’s wearing a purple halter!)

Thanks for reading! 💜

Mostly Dead

Well. That was a longer break than I expected. I didn't forget, I promise! I was just too busy to do anything. Sorry! You may remember me mentioning a local fair I am very involved with in the fall. Well, it's coming and I am miles behind. Things are insane, and to top it all off, I started a new medication. Pretty sick for the first few days, but then all was well. . . until the dose increased. 🙄 Hopefully this is a 24hr thing not a 4 day long ordeal.

But, at the moment I am mostly dead (which is still slightly alive according to Miracle Max).

Two days ago was the one year anniversary of this blog. THANK YOU! I believe we were at 11,300 some hits when the day dawned. I am so happy to hit this mark! There will be a giveaway in the future to commemorate the occasion, but not now. 😅

I finished the collab horse a couple weeks ago, but haven't had time to post pics. Soon! I'm really happy with him. :)

Finally, a new Breyer and four new Wades joined the herd this past week. CWB is yet to be named.

I will post again soon! I won't let it go so long again. I just need to get into gear and figure out how to make a 36hr day so I can get this stuff done.

Collection Collective ~ Grab Bag Style

You all had some pretty great ideas there in the comments of the last Collection Collective! I had so much fun picking pretty ponies that I couldn't narrow it down to 2 or 3. You get a mix of models!

AJ said she likes dark bay and black paints, and palomino and flaxen chestnuts.

Here ya go, AJ!

Not really black, but Grulla is close enough! :)

AC said that she liked Moody, Prosser, and Eberl.

Unfortunately, I do not have an Alborozo, and I am down to one Alby SM. The Alby SM is a WIP. I do have plenty of Moodys, including a Wilder, no Patrick's Vindicator (I don't collect that mold currently), but I do have some Prossers. Sadly, I had a lapse in memory and forgot to pull my BGB down (I have Stella on her). Don't know how I missed that. 😅 I did get one of my Zippos though! And two Eberl Arab types.

Such a work in progress lol

Hope this was a fun one! These horses may show up in other ones, with more details and photos. This was just a quick photo dump style since I'm low on time tonight. Hope you liked it! As always lmk what other types you would like to see. :)

New Arrivals (And Boy Does One of Them Smell Good!)

What is blue, spotted, white, and clear, and smells like cinnamon sugar? The long awaited new addition post! I really didn't mean to build it up so much, but it just kept being delayed by all the Breyer reveal news posts.

Blue! I got two of these little fellers. They are both for customizing, and I might sell one of the customs. But that's a long way off. This is just one of them. It's a really cute little sculpt. I find it quite funny that the air hole in the traditional one  translated down during the "shrinking" process. XD

Next up is Delphine! She is a new SM CWB SM I just recently completed. She is not completely done in the image, she still needs her eyeballs glossed, but they're the only pics I have of her at the moment. I'm pretty happy with her, what do you guys think?

This is the Arab Stallion from the clearware set, but he's in primer here. The rest of his family are pictured below, without primer. :)

Haha, I probably shouldn't have used flash here, she looks yellow! She's really crystal clear.

All together, it's a really nice set. I'm keeping the CWB clearware (for my mini conga) and priming and painting the other ones just as if they were whiteware. Still deciding on colors for the Shetland and the foal, if anyone has any ideas. :)

This is by far the nicest smelling coolest new addition! This is a beeswax ornament made by HorsieMama. She held a giveaway for them a few weeks ago, but I forgot to enter. She was super thoughtful, and sent me her extra! She sent it as a complete surprise, and it was an amazing pick-me-up when I got it in the mail. Thank you so much HorsieMama!! It smells like heaven. . .

Collection Collective ~ SDS Snow Meadow and SDS Don Quixote

This will be the first post in the new style of highlighting various models in my collection while I go about retaking all their show images. Yesterday I spent the afternoon sitting on the wet concrete in front of my porch while taking images for about half of my SM collection. Several weren't as good as I was hoping, so I will have at least two more sessions before SMs are "finished" (anyone who shows knows that photos are never really finished, there will always be something to improve).

I'm calling this feature "Collection Collective". If you can think of a better title, I'd love to hear it! Please comment it down below!

Now, back to the topic. I'm highlighting two SMs today. The first is a CWB (surprise, surprise). This release is the "Warmblood" from the SM Single Horse Assortment, model number 5906. She was produced 2006-2008. I traded Lindy Pinkham for her back in. . .  oh I think it was 2019, maybe 2020. I'd have to dig back through my email to find it. She traded me a lot of CWBs for a lot of Walmart BB Unicorns. (If you are considering trading with her, do it. She's awesome to deal with. Our trade deal straddled the week that I lost my dog, and she was so caring and understanding about the length of time it was taking me to respond and ship. Double A+ trade partner rating from me. 🙃)

SDS Snow Meadow, Anglo-Arab, Fleabit Grey Mare.

The next SM is the Grey M1 MFT from the 70th Anniversary BB. I got this guy at my local TSC on the 4th of July. Every 4th of July, my town sets off fireworks from the swamp across from the plaza. The TSC is located in the plaza, and stays open late that night. I ran in while I was waiting for the show to start and grabbed him up. He is model number 6051 and was only produced in 2020.

Side note, the little fella has some sticky tack in the corner of his mouth from an old performance set-up, it is not a paint flaw. :)

SDS Don Quixote, MFT, Fleabit Grey Stallion.

Well, I guess that concludes the first post in the Collection Collective. Don't forget to post your name ideas for this "series" down in the comments! I would love to hear your ideas. :)

Giveaway Extended!

Unfortunately, I have been crazy busy this week, and haven't had much time to work on new posts. Because of that, I am extending the deadline to enter the giveaway one more week. It now closes on Midnight (EST) December 14th, 2022.

Thank you for all your lovely comments! I'm glad to see some new names appearing!

Some very exciting news transpired this week. Breyer opened up a SR to online attendees! I am positively thrilled. This will tremendously affect whether or not I go in person this year. I am so grateful Breyer chose to allow this option this year!

Also, Helios and Kit are available to buy on the website for SMC members. There is also a really cool article up on the Breyer Blog about Kit's creation.

Also, the new SMC banner arrived, showing the silhouettes for the year.

G1 Arabian Mare, G1 TB Lying Foal, M1 SCO, M1 MFT, G2 Shetland, G3 CWB

We already know that the SCO is Sidewinder, a beautiful, mapped grey appaloosa stallion. The rest are unknown. I will be in some deep trouble if the CWB is the gambler's choice model. However, I think it will probably be the MFT who ends up with that title.

2022 JAH Photos!

My JAH arrived in the mail yesterday! It is chock-full of good stuff. I took photos, they are not super-nice in quality, but they will do. I will make an attempt at re-taking them this afternoon, because morning light is so bad.

Nothing surprising here on the CC page.

I had heard rumors of a black Croi, but to my knowledge, there was no photographic proof. Now we have it!

The Bay and Pal are glossy, and I think the grey are too, but I am not 100% on that.

I like that centerpiece!
